I have been a big supporter of the City Market Downtown for years now and as today was the first market of the year (hosted outside), I thought I would make a post about it. Every year they seem to expand more and more and have lots of different stalls. I think that it is important to support locally where you can and the farmers market is a great place to do. It is also nice to be able to interact with the people who grew the produce or made the jewelry. Being gluten and dairy free, it is sometimes hard to find things that not only taste good but are reasonably priced and this market in particular has stalls specifically for being gluten free with dairy free options which is exciting. There are also a lot of clothing and jewelry stalls so there is lots of things to look at. I get quite a few questions on some blazers that I have and I get them from a stall at the market called Fridget Apparel. They are handmade and unique as she usually only makes one of each size; check out her Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/fridgetfactory.
At the market today I picked up apples, pears, hummus and corn pita bread, peanuts, gluten and dairy free cupcakes (which are DELICIOUS), gluten free Worcestershire sauce and vegan chocolate (in mint and lavender).
Do you believe in supporting locally if you can?
